About Us
WE ARE THE KRISHNA DEVOTEE..........
A Krishna devotee is someone who reveres Lord Krishna, a deity in Hinduism considered to be an incarnation of the Supreme God, Vishnu. Krishna is known for his divine qualities, teachings, and activities, especially his role in the Bhagavad Gita, where he serves as a spiritual guide to Arjuna. Devotees of Krishna often express their devotion through prayers, chanting his names, singing hymns, meditation, and other spiritual practices.
Krishna’s followers may belong to various sects, but some of the most prominent ones include:
ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness): Founded by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, ISKCON promotes devotion to Krishna through congregational chanting (kirtan), worship, and studying sacred texts like the Bhagavad Gita.
Gaudiya Vaishnavism: This tradition, particularly associated with the teachings of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, emphasizes the worship of Radha and Krishna in their divine love.
Bhakti Yoga: A path of devotion, Bhakti Yoga involves surrendering to God with love and reverence, and Krishna is often the chosen deity in this practice.
Krishna devotees may celebrate festivals like Janmashtami (the birth of Krishna), Holi (celebrating Krishna’s playful nature), and Govardhan Puja (marking the lifting of the Govardhan Hill). Practices often include the repetition of sacred mantras like “Hare Krishna,” which is central to the spiritual practices of ISKCON followers.
